FAQ's

The Answers You Need !

1. What car do you teach in?

I teach in a manual 68 plate VW Polo 1.0 TSI with dual controls.

2. Do you teach manual or automatic?

I only teach manual.

3. What areas do you cover?

I provide driving lessons in and around Winchester and other local areas such as Kings Worthy, South Wonston, Sutton Scotney, Barton Stacey, Badger Farm, and Itchen Abbas. I can offer pick-up and drop-off in different locations depending on my diary commitments.

4. How many lessons am I likely to need?

The DVSA recommends that pupils passing their test have taken, on average, 47 hours of professional training combined with 22 hours of private practice. From my own experiences everyone is different and will learn at different paces. Naturally those combining professional practice with private practice could potentially take less lessons than those who only have professional practice. I recommend regular weekly lessons to ensure the tuition stays 'fresh' and allow pupils to progress at a steady pace. The most important thing to remember is that driving is a skill for life. I teach pupils to reach a high standard that not only passes a driving test but also prepares them for a safe and confident lifetime on the road.

5. Do you do Mock Practical Tests?

I do. The mock test is an invaluable opportunity to provide the pupil an insight to the experience of the driving test. In addition to this the mock test highlights any obvious flaws and gives me chance to work with the pupil in correcting this before the driving test day.

6. Do you do intensive courses?

No, however I can sometimes offer semi-intensive lessons (i.e 2 or 3 lessons per week) for those who are looking to pass their test sooner.
